14-year-old shot in Baltimore City Friday, police say

A 14-year-old boy was shot Friday evening in Baltimore City and is at a hospital, 11 News has learned. Baltimore City police received a call just before 5 p.m. The shooting happened in the 1800 block of West Saratoga Street, where officers found the boy suffering from a gunshot wound.The preliminary investigation revealed the boy was shot in the 200 block of North Payson Street, according to Baltimore police. The shooting marks the third time a child has been shot in the last week. An arrest has been made in one of the shootings, but not the other two.Reggie Jones said he heard the moment shots were fired. Some of the gunshots hit a car, shattering one of the windows.”They don’t care,” he said. “They don’t care who they choose. And the young keep getting younger and younger.”Jones doesn’t understand why more young people seem to be involved in violence compared to when he was younger. “Back then, we had more fun when I was coming up, compared to now,” Young told 11 News. Now, Jones and others wonder what they can do to help make it stop.”Feel sorry for the family, but what can you do? I can’t (answer) that question,” he said. “I can’t answer that one.”
