Tractor-trailer overturns, leaks fuel on I-95 in Baltimore County

A tractor-trailer overturned on southbound Interstate 95 in Baltimore County on Wednesday afternoon.

The White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company responded around 5:15 p.m. near Rosedale and found the truck on its side, leaking diesel fuel, the company said.

A passenger vehicle was also involved in the crash, and the truck’s tanks were holding an estimated 700 gallons of fuel, the company said. The Maryland Department of the Environment also responded to the scene.

All four lanes of the express toll lane section of I-95 south near exits 63 and 64 remained closed Wednesday night, according to the Maryland Department of Transportation.

A couple of hours later, another crash involving three cars on Interstate 83 in the Parkton area left five injured.

Maryland State Police troopers responded to the northbound side of the interstate near the 35 mile marker for a reported three-vehicle crash around 7 p.m., state police said. While traveling south, a Nissan struck a Hyundai for unknown reasons, leading both cars to travel into the northbound lanes, where a Honda was struck, according to a preliminary investigation.

Five people were transported to WellSpan York Hospital by ambulance for treatment of injuries, and the northbound side of the interstate was closed for investigation, state police said. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
